バーに入って一杯目に迷ったら？｜The First Drink at Bar?
昔ははじめてのバーはに入ったらジンフィズを、と言われていました。習字で言う所の「氷」と同じだそうで、トメ、ハネ、ハライなどの要素があり、シェークから始まり、氷の組み方、ステア、ソーダの注ぎ方などバーテンダーの技術がその一杯に表現されます。
最近ではいきなりジンフィズはちょっとあからさま、という事で、ジントニックを頼むのが主流のようです。

It seems to be the same concept as “ice 氷” in the calligraphy, there are writing elements & steps similar as it begins with the shake, and the bartender's techniques such as how to assemble ice, stair, how to pour soda are fully expressed.
Recently, gin fizz is a little obvious to drink at first, so it seems that the mainstream is asking for a gin tonic instead.
一杯目を決めてみる

以前先輩とバーを巡った時、各店で2杯、一杯はスタンダードカクテル、もう一杯はフルーツカクテルとあらかじめ決めて行きました。
事前に決めておくと、よりそれぞれの個性が分かりやすくまた、同じスタンダードカクテルでも、こうも違うものかと感じる事ができ、これもまたバーの楽しみの一つとなります。
私はそれからというもの、どこへ行ってもまずジントニックと決めております。
他のお店の味を知るたびに、バーテンダーは一生修行だという事を感じます。
When I visited the bar with my colleagues, we decided to go with 2 cups at each bar, one for standard cocktails and another for fruit cocktails.
If you decide in advance, personality of each drink will be easier to understand, and even with the same standard cocktail, you can feel that it is different, which is also one of the pleasures of the bar.
After that, I decided to go with gin tonic first.
Every time I taste other bar’s drink, I feel that the bartender is a lifelong study.
ジントニックをおすすめする理由
Reason I recommend Gin Tonic
はじめの一杯だからと、遠慮せずに何を頼んでもバーテンダーは嫌がる事はありません。勿論ジンフィズでも、フルーツカクテルでも。
ただ、バーテンダーも一杯目は早くお出ししたいと言う本音もあるので、出しやすい一杯というのは、スマートかも知れません。
あくまで持論ですが、はじめの一杯にジントニックをおすすめするのは、スタンダードの中のスタンダードであり、今時はカラオケボックスや、チェーン店でも出て来ます。
一見ジンにトニックウォーターを注ぐだけに思えるジントニックが、本格的なバーではどれだけ違うのか。
シンプルだからこそ、それを確かめる楽しみがジントニックにはあると思うのです。
The bartender will not hate you for anything you ask, because it is your first drink. Of course, even gin fizz or fruit cocktails.
However, some bartenders really want to put out the first drink quickly, so a drink that is easy to put out may be smart.
Although it is only my theory, it is standard among the standards that recommend gin tonic for the first drink, and now it is commonly available at karaoke and chain bar/restaurant.
