元ラフロイグ蒸留所のイアン・ヘンダーソン氏が手がけたピートが効いたユニークな逸品｜A unique heavily peated scotch by Ian Henderson of the former Laphroaig distillery

バレッヒェンシリーズ（エドラダワー蒸留所）のご紹介です。
Introducing the Ballechen Series (Edradour Distillery)

ゲール語で「エドレッドの小川」の名を持つエドラダワー蒸留所は、スコットランド最小の蒸留所です。南ハイランドに位置し、その生産量は、スペイサイドの蒸留所の平均生産量の40分の1程しかありません。

そんなエドラダワー蒸留所から「ヘビリーピーテッド」（とてもピートの効いた）シリーズのご紹介です。

2002年にラフロイグ蒸留所を退いたイアン・ヘンダーソン氏をマネージャーに抜粋し、仕込んだのがこの「バレッヒェン」シリーズ全8種類、バレッヒェンはエドラダワーの近くにあり、1927年に閉鎖してしまった蒸留所の名前です。

今回ご用意したのはボルドー樽、バーボン樽、ソーテルヌ樽の3種類です。全て度数は46%、ピートの度合を示すフェノール値は50ppmで、しっかりとしたピート香がついており、まさにこれが、イアン・ヘンダーソン氏の手がける「バレッヒェン」シリーズ最大の特徴「ヘビリーピーテッド」です。

3種類飲み比べつつ、「ノンピート」である、本家エドラダワーも一緒にお楽しみください。

「バレッヒェン」シリーズは無くなり次第終了の予定です。

Edradour distillery, named in the Gaelic language “Edred Brook”, is the smallest distillery in Scotland. Located in the South Highlands, its production is only about 1 / 40th of Speyside.

It is an introduction of the "Heavily Peated" series from an Edradour distillery.

Ian Henderson, who retired from Laphroaig distillery in 2002, was selected as the manager, and all 8 types of this “ Barechen '' series were charged, Ballechen was near Edradour and name of distillery closed in 1927.

This time, I have three types: Bordeaux, Bourbon and Sauternes. All of them have a alcohol of 46%, the phenol value indicating the degree of peat is 50ppm, and there is a solid peat scent. This is exactly what the “Ballechen” series's biggest feature “Heavily Peat” by Ian Henderson.
