モクテル？パスティス？｜Mocktail? Pastis?
ミクソロジー、クラフト、 バーシーンでは沢山の新しい言葉が踊る。 殆どが、昔からオーセンティックバーで普通だった事象に、焦点を当てて流行らせられた言葉だ。 お酒を飲まない、飲めないお客様は、昔からバーにはいて、珍しい事ではありません。 フロリダ、シャーリーテンプルはよく出来たノンアルコールカクテルで、他にもシンデレラや、アルコール無しのフルーツカクテルなどいくらでもあります。 また、ウィスキーの水割りもバーテンダーはカクテルと考えます。 そんな中で、バーにある唯一フェイクカクテルと言って良いのが、ただカクテルグラスに水を注いだだけのフェイクマティーニ。 オリーブは添えるが、液体は何も混ぜないただの水。 これもバー文化の一つ。

さて最後に、モクテルの意味は？ モク＋テルの造語。 当然、語尾のテルは、「カクテル」のテル。 モクは「偽物」を意味する。 イギリス発祥で「モック」は「偽り」です。 流行に乗っていくバーテンダー、バーシーンが有り、 流行に乗らないバーテンダー、バーシーンが有る。 「偽り」の一杯を飲んでも「バー」で心が酔い、踊ることは無い。 最近、歩き始めた、流行るであろう『モクテル』の言葉は、千鳥足では無く、酔わず、踊らず、真っ直ぐ進んでいくのだろう。 これもバー文化の一つ。
